Historic Sandusky, in partnership with the University of Lynchburg, is dedicated to providing educational opportunities and career development for students and the public by preserving and interpreting the history of slavery, the Civil War, and 19th-century American life.
Field Trips at Historic Sandusky
Field Trips are offered at Historic Sandusky to all age groups and all levels of education.
The basic Field Trip format at Sandusky is:

Visitor Center Museum: 10-15 minutes (or until all members of the group have arived)

Documentary "Hunters Raid: The Battle for Lynchburg": 20 min

Tour of the House and Archaeology Lab: 45 min
Depending on age group and interest, other Sandusky lessons or activities can be added or put in place of the documentary.
Archaeology Field Trip: Depending on the number of participants field trips can also be made archaeology specific and can include an introduction to archaeology, a mock dig, and a tour of the archaeology lab.
